At Via Seating, we take pride in being a US-based manufacturer of high-quality commercial seating solutions. We are committed to transparency and to supporting our valued partners as global market dynamics shift.
Due to recent changes in international trade policy and escalating global tariffs, we’re seeing a rise in material costs from some of our international suppliers. While we’ve been able to absorb previous increases, this latest round of tariff impacts—without a clear end in sight—has created direct and significant cost pressure on select components we use to maintain the quality and reliability you expect from Via Seating.
As a result, we will be implementing a 5.0% tariff surcharge on applicable products, effective June 1st, 2025. This replaces the 3% tariff surcharge that has been in effect since March 31st, 2025.
5.0% Tariff Surcharge – Effective June 2025
Important Details:
• All Commercial POs received by noon PST May 31st, 2025 & shipping in June 2025, will not be subject to this surcharge. Note: Please expedite any outstanding quote to arrive by this date.
• All Commercial POs received on or after June 1st, 2025, will need to include the surcharge. Any POs missing the tariff surcharge will be put on a pricing hold until they are corrected or approved.
• The surcharge will be applied as a separate line item on the NET price of the invoice.
Surcharge Notification:
• Notice is displayed in the PDF online indoor price book ».
• Notice is displayed on the “Spec It»” configurator (online build & quote tool) pdf exports. A toggle to turn this surcharge on is available in the Projects screen.
• A copy of this notice is published here.
Exemptions:
• Outdoor products will not be subject to this surcharge at this time.
• GSA & State Contracts will also be exempt until further notice. For TIPS & OMNIA orders, please apply the previous 3% tariff surcharge until further notice.
We will continue to monitor this evolving situation closely. Because we remain hopeful that these tariffs will not be long-term, we believe applying this as a temporary, separate surcharge is the most flexible and transparent solution. This allows us to reduce—or remove—it quickly should conditions improve.
